Oh God, they are trying to rehabilitate Edward VIII. If he was really attuned to the people's suffering he wouldn't have led a life of astounding emptiness. George VI 's decision to remain in London during the war was much more a social revolution. Edward was just a spoiled and vacuous child.

And after abdicating the throne. he clearly committed treason by flooding the blackmarket with British Pounds. Why some loyal British subject didn't put a bullet in the back of his head is beyond me. I imagine that he thought the nazis would put him back on the throne as a Quisling...
