No.7 of 7. Of all the species on earth, only humans try to explain who they are and how they came to be, through the prisms of both science and religion. Today, the theory of evolution is dogged by this tension.

If you want to believe in god go right ahead. But it's hard to take the bible as literal when it comes to stories like genesis. I'm sorry for my buck I believe the guys in the lab coats conducting tests today over stories from men in the early days of human development.

There is no god. Get over it. Religion=control over people who refuse to think for themselves.

the dad in the beginning, whose idea of evolution is developing from a "slimy thing," clearly shows how religion is taught to control and limit thinking. he refuses to believe anything other than what has been instilled in him all his life. in science, there is no place for the mentality of "this is how it is, and that's that." the whole purpose of the study of science is to continually question everything. the study of science, itself, is ever-evolving. nothing is set in stone. later in the video, some christian scholar or whatever refers to the necessity of teaching creationism in school as it somehow promotes purpose in life. that is such garbage. to imply that one cannot have a purpose-driven life without religion is absolutely absurd. what purpose is there in life without questioning?
